Understanding Close Shift Report summaries

Cash Drawer Summary is the totals of money received in the different forms of payment, it is used to balance the drawer only. Sales Order Summary is a report of everything that got dropped off during a particular shift or period. Clock In & Clock Out

Clock In and Clock Out is a time and attendance system to record the hours worked by an employee. It can also be used to track meals and breaks. Clock In is to register an employee's arrival and Clock Out is to register an employee's departure from work. A Time and Attendance report can then be printed to review an employee's hours.


Log In & Log Out

i-Laundry has a user control system which enables each user to have complete control of his or her own transactions. Log In is the process by which individual access to the system is controlled by identifying and authenticating the user through the credentials presented by the user. To Log Out is to close off one's access to the system after having previously logged in. Once a user has logged in, they can then Log Out when access is no longer needed. Manage Stock

Manage Stock is a stock control system to ensure that products in store are the correct quantity and recognises when a customer has bought a product. But does not remove the necessity for checking what is on the shelves regularly. A Stock Variance report can be printed to monitor stock.


Hold Order

Hold Order is used whenever an order needs to be prevented from being processed. e.g If a deposit is required for an order before it can be processed and the customer doesn't have the required amount, the order can be placed on hold until the amount is settled.



Shifts

A shift is a particular period for trading goods and services. A shift can be run over a couple of days or multiple shifts can be run in one day. In most cases, a shift starts in the morning and is closed at the end of the day. See related articles.
