Understanding item programming in i-Laundry

Programming service and product items in i-Laundry is very simple if you keep in mind that everything revolves around two things, the service item and the customer profile; the rest are just building blocks.

To create a Service Item, you must choose a Service Type, Service Item group and Service Item Type; of the three, only the service item type is optional and if you do not require the high level of detail, need not be included in the Service Item.

  • A Service Type is the highest level in the hierarchy of a Service Item; typically, it would be items like Dry-cleaning, Laundry, Alterations, Counter Stock etc. (mandatory)
  • A Service Item Group is the second level in the hierarchy of a Service Item; typically, it would be items like Shirt, Trousers, and Blazers etc. (mandatory)
  • A Service Item Types is the third level in the hierarchy of a Service Item; typically, it would be items like, in the case of dresses, ordinary, pleated, long or in the case of coats, full length, 3/4, fur collar etc. (Optional)
  • A Service Item is the result of a combination of Service Type, Service Item Group & Service Item Type.
